Terms of Service

Welcome to Dyno ("we", "our", or "us"). Dyno is a web application that helps climbing gyms manage routes and allows climbers to track progress, submit feedback, and share climbing experiences.

By creating an account or using Dyno, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. About the Service

Dyno is a platform that provides:

  • Route management tools for climbing gyms
  • User progress tracking
  • Route feedback and grading features
  • The ability to share beta videos through external links (e.g., Instagram, YouTube)

Dyno is a PWA (Progressive Web App) and does not require download through an app store.

2. Eligibility

You must:

  • • Have permission to access a climbing gym that uses Dyno
  • • Have a valid user account
  • • Be at least 13 years old, or have parental/guardian consent if required by your country (13–16 in the EU depending on region)

We may delete accounts created in violation of these rules.

3. Account Registration

Authentication is handled securely by Auth0. To use Dyno, users must create an account and agree to provide accurate information.

You are responsible for:

  • • Keeping your Auth0 login credentials secure
  • • All activity performed through your account
  • • Informing us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access

We reserve the right to suspend or remove accounts that violate these Terms.

4. User Content

You may submit certain types of content, including:

  • Route feedback
  • Logging climbs
  • Links to external videos (e.g., YouTube or Instagram)

You agree that:

  • You only submit content that you own or have permission to share
  • You only submit content that is relevant to climbing and the Dyno community
  • You will not share illegal, harmful, or abusive content
  • You will not upload copyrighted material without permission
  • You will not impersonate others or provide misleading information

We reserve the right to remove content that violates these rules or applicable laws.

4.1 External Video Links

Dyno does not host videos. You remain responsible for any content you link from external platforms. Those platforms' terms and privacy policies apply.

5. Gym Content & Responsibilities

Climbing gyms using Dyno may:

  • • Manage and publish route information
  • • View aggregated user statistics
  • • Receive user feedback on grading

Gyms are responsible for ensuring:

  • • That route information is accurate
  • • That indoor climbing safety rules are followed (independent of Dyno)
  • • That gym staff users comply with these Terms

Dyno is not responsible for any climbing-related injuries, decisions, or gym operations.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Dyno for illegal or harmful purposes
  • Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or disrupt the service
  • Use Dyno to harass, abuse, or intimidate others
  • Upload malware, scripts, or harmful code
  • Attempt to access other users' data

Violation of this section may result in account suspension or legal action.

7. Service Availability

We aim to provide reliable access to Dyno, but we cannot guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted availability
  • Error-free operation
  • That all data will be permanently stored

We may update, modify, or remove features at any time.

You agree that we are not liable for downtime, data loss, or service interruptions.

8. Third-Party Services

Dyno relies on third-party providers:

Authentication

Azure

Hosting

Aiven

Database services

By using Dyno, you also agree to their relevant terms and policies.

We are not responsible for outages or security incidents caused by these third-party providers, though we take reasonable measures to ensure compliance and reliability.

9. Data Protection & Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy explains in detail:

  • What data we collect
  • How we use it
  • How you can exercise your GDPR rights

The Privacy Policy is part of these Terms.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Dyno if:

  • • You violate these Terms
  • • You misuse the platform or harm other users
  • • We are required to do so by law or authorities

You may delete your account at any time by contacting support.

Upon termination:

  • • Your access will be revoked
  • • Personal data will be deleted or anonymized as described in the Privacy Policy
  • • Non-personal user-generated content (e.g., anonymized stats) may be retained

11. Disclaimers

Dyno is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

We are not responsible for:

  • • Climbing injuries or safety issues
  • • Incorrect gym route information
  • • External video content
  • • Loss of data
  • • Third-party outages

Use of the app is at your own risk.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date and notify users when necessary.

Continued use of Dyno after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of:

Belgium

Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
